Rodić Davidson is a London-based architecture practice specialising in the refurbishment, restoration and adaptation of historic and listed buildings. Its work reflects a commitment
to delivering sensitive and thoughtful designs whist protecting the clients' interests.
The challenge was to communicate the thinking behind the practice’s projects, looking beyond finished buildings to the research, design decisions and technical complexities that shaped them. The material needed to work across different contexts, introducing the practice to new audiences while giving prospective clients a deeper understanding of its approach.
Through research, writing and design, we developed a connected body of material that communicates the practice’s work across digital and print formats.
Case Studies
One hundred substantial, interconnected texts explore the architectural context, design development, planning and construction of individual projects. Written for the website, the case studies go beyond descriptions of completed buildings to reveal the research, challenges and decisions behind their transformation. Selected projects were also adapted into curated email portfolios, bringing relevant experience together around the interests and requirements of prospective clients.
Portfolio Collection
The case studies were brought together in a carefully designed portfolio collection, creating a cohesive editorial record of the practice’s work. Metric typography, a rigorous architectural grid and considered photography bring clarity and consistency to the extensive writing, allowing each project its own space while establishing connections across the collection. The result is more than a showcase of completed buildings in that it communicates the thinking behind their transformation and the practice’s approach to working with historic buildings, sustainable materials and protected landscapes.
Editorial and Advertising
Magazine advertorials and advertisements presented the practice’s commitment to sensitive interventions that respect the natural and built environment. Alongside these, press campaigns and website features engaged with architectural news and wider industry conversations, extending the practice’s perspective beyond individual projects. These communications connected the detail of Rodić Davidson’s work with broader questions about the future of historic buildings and their adaptation for modern life.
